We use Scripture Union "Light" material

In the three groups which cover the ages between 3 and 11 we use the Light material from Scripture Union. There are different books for each group cover the same stories each week, but the materials are appropriate for  each age.
Playhouse use Bubbles.
Kid's House use Splash.
Big House use XStream.

We are very pleased with them, so would recommend them in your church.

Back to School

The children in Bucks are back to school now, so it's back to normal routine in Hope Street. As always, on the third Sunday of the month we have a Praise party when the children between 3 and 11 are all together for games, craft and singing. If you've been to Lighthouse in the summer then you'll find it a bit like that (without the tents).

Elijah and the prophets of Baal

This week we met Elijah. A man who faced many challenges. One of the accounts of Elijah is his encounter with those who put their faith in Baal, a man made god. Elijah challenged them to a contest. Elijah was so sure of his Lord, that he stacked the odds against himself. The challenge was to call out to Baal and to God to light the altars. However much the other prophest called to Baal, there was no response, yet Elijahs call to the Lord saw the altar fire lit in spite of the vast ammounts of water that had been used to wet the wood.

Do we have that same faith in God?
